Annie…

May 1st, 2011

“You go get our people back!” Universal has debuted the full theatrical trailer on Apple for Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens, based on the Platinum comic books, starring Daniel Craig and a whole host of other awesome actors, including Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford, Sam Rockwell, Paul Dano and even Clancy Brown. Given we’ve already seen a badass teaser trailer and plenty of posters, we all know what this is about, so let’s just get right into it because this looks awesome. Can the line-up of this summer’s movies get any better? Everything really looks great so far, and this in particular looks so damn fun! Bring on the summer season!

Does this Robot make you feel strange?

May 1st, 2011

This thing makes me nervous for the future. Now I can’t tell whether or not it’s the bizarre sound that it makes or the way it moves.. probably both. I know I’ve probably put this film up before, but Boston Robotics has added some new snow footage. This thing is doing something entirely too Borg. Ya think?

ARK

March 7th, 2011

A Short animated film by Grzegorz Jonkajtys and Marcin , ARK feels looks like a video game, feels like an action movie, but is in fact something entirely different. Ponder the ending all you want. Really. Ponder and ponder and ponder, then stew over it until you draw some really interesting parallels between old people feeling “plagued” and literally cast out to the sea of retirement homes, and the plot line of this animated short. The video is handled with such attention to detail that watching the video is just the first step in understanding it’s full meaning.
